Challenge: no. 9: CKD - the stealth assassin whose symptoms don't hurt
Problem: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a much-neglected topic, but it affects more than 1.2M people in the Czech Republic! The biggest risk is that many patients don’t even know they have the disease and when they do find out, it may be too late for treatment.
Solution: Doctors (GP) - insurance cmpns benefits for CKD screening - preventive examinations (employers) to CKD screening - CALC to determine the risk of disease. Patients - Product campaign (egg pack 1/10) - Testing of risk patients in public places - Campaign in March/Easter - zdraveledviny.cz: MKT concept + CKD testing request + CALC to determine CKD risk Tečka v2 - personalized notifs + screening info based on the triggers (CKD,...) - displaying the test result + recommending a consultation w/GP
Impact: It depends on the cooperation of companies. The cooperation of Insurance Companies (VZP,..), Health companies (Astra Zeneca,..), Bigger employers (ČSOB, Astra Zeneca,..), IKEM, egg producer (Českavejce a.s.), Czech government. Finances will be developed according to the choice of the scope of individual activities and the pricing policy of individual companies. In our opinion, the above is clearly the next steps :)
Feasibility & financials: As described in the solution. We will reach the target group of patients aged 35+ and general practitioners.
What you have built at the hackathon - text explanation + code (e.g. GitHub link): We have prepared a communication and support plan for people (potential patients) and general practitioners, which will help solve the problem of low awareness around CKD.
What you had before the hackathon, please mention open source as well: We started on Eucalyptus :)
What comes next and what you wish to achieve: We chose this topic because we see it as very important for general public. It is definitely not a one-time event, but a long-term project with a lot of potencial for creativity, which convinced us to choose:) A challenge that makes sense..
