Challenge: no. 3: Mobile navigation around IKEM (also for the blind)
Problem: Patients often cannot find their way around the IKEM facility, the navigation is flawed and it is changing due to construction and repairs. People with blindness, mobility issues need additional assistance to navigate the medical facility.
Solution: We propose Ikemka - a mobile application with voice assistant capabilities that can guide people around the facility. It works both on mobile and desktop devices, can be installed on stationary terminals around the facility. Administrators can maintain topological graph of facility, and the application is capable of constructing the route from/to using graph algorithms.
Impact: Hopefully this application will help people find faster and better ways around the IKEM facility, will save time for both patients and medical professionals and in the end will make the world a better place.
Feasibility & financials: The app is in very raw prototype stage. Additional development, testing and data entry work is required. Once the app is completed, its maintenance will be trivial, no special technical skills are required to edit the topological data, mark sections as open/closed, add new plans etc. Server cost should also be minimal.
What you have built at the hackathon - text explanation + code (e.g. GitHub link): React App using Firebase for storage and Leaflet for map data display: https://github.com/maxymczech/ikem2021
What you had before the hackathon, please mention open source as well: Only some ideas regarding the task.
What comes next and what you wish to achieve: I believe this app has potential to be finished and go to prouction, if there is interest from your side :)
