Project / product name: CKD national healthcare strategy
Link to the project: http://
Team leader: Imrich Berta
Challenge: no. 9: CKD - the stealth assassin whose symptoms don't hurt
Problem: CKD is one of the major causes of mortality and a significant source of healthcare costs, yet it still remains largely underdiagnosed and underestimated.
Solution: This strategy aims to highlight some actionable points to decrease impact of CKD. It is based on a Machine Learning model that assesses the risk of developing CKD in individual patients based on their profile.
Impact: Use of model for insurance companies combining demographics with medical records. Prevention of CKD : Test for CKD more frequently in patients with strongly correlated diagnoses (e.g. diabetes, heart diseases, high blood pressure
Feasibility & financials: Apply model within insurance company's data regular blood and urine tests, high pressure checks ordered by GP
What you have built at the hackathon - text explanation + code (e.g. GitHub link): Machine learning model and some strategy consulted with physicians.
What you had before the hackathon, please mention open source as well: data - medical records. + some basic regression model
What comes next and what you wish to achieve: Change the actual policy in the insurance company we work for (VšZP, the largest IC in Slovakia). That might possibly affect the whole national healthcare standards.
